Caprese Salad Recipe



This caprese salad is one of the most simple, yet delicious salads you'll ever make. The touch of grated garlic adds an incredible aroma and depth to this dish. You'll definitely want to give this a try!



Ingredients:

  • 2-3 very ripe but still firm small tomatoes, sliced about 1/4”

  • About 2-3oz fresh buffalo milk mozzarella, or cow’s milk mozzarella, sliced thinly

  • 12-14 fresh basil leaves

  • 1 large garlic clove, finely grated

  • Sea salt or Himalayan pink salt

  • Freshly grated black pepper

  • 2-3 Tbsp or more high quality extra virgin olive oil

  • Lightly toasted slices of sourdough bread


Directions:

  1. Arrange tomato slices around the edge of a plate.

  2. Sprinkle salt and pepper over the slices.

  3. Place a slice of mozzarella on each tomato slice, then a basil leaf.

  4. Place the grated garlic in the center of the plate and sprinkle with a little salt and pepper. Drizzle olive oil over the garlic.

  5. Serve the caprese salad with toasted sourdough, mixing the fresh garlic into the olive oil. Dip the tomato slices and bread into the olive oil mixture as desired.

  6. Inhale deeply!
